Introducing local charities to the local community
Registered Charity Number 1094446
During 2015-17 £25,000 was raised through the Hidden Needs Trust with the help of Somerset Community Foundation. Plus a £17,000 cut in funding for one Dorset Opportunity Group was overturned by HNT's intervention, without this they may have faced closure.
They are still open and recently achieved an outstanding OFSTED rating.
Please help HNT move forward and make 2018 an outstanding year by Sponsoring - “Donating”or “Fundraising” via the HNT Just Giving page.
I set up Hidden Needs Trust in Sept 2014 to raise awareness of the vital work that the Opportunity Groups in Dorset and Somerset provide. These groups support pre-school children with special needs and their families in a safe and stimulating environment. Alongside raising awareness of the groups I have spent the last three years fundraising for them through the Hidden Needs Trust.
Since the start, I have taken on an ANNUAL PERSONAL CHALLENGE....
In 2015, despite breaking my neck 12 weeks earlier I ran 7 marathons in 7 days, and then in 2016 took on 27 marathons in 26 days.
Last year I ran, with 17 year old son George, 65 miles in 12 hours, finishing at the Sherborne Summer Festival.
An invitation to the Queens Garden Party at Buckingham Palace in 2017 was a wonderful surprise. What an honour and privilege to be invited as Hidden Needs Trust.
IN PREPARATION for my 2018 physical challenge on June 16th at the Sherborne Summer Festival, I’m working with Simon Partridge of SpFit Sherborne and 3rd Dan Sensei Peter Fawbert.
THIS CHALLENGE IS DEFINITELY GOING TO BE THE TOUGHEST TO DATE...
Come along and support...and watch the website and tweets for details nearer the time! [Sherborne Summer Festival is a free, family-friendly festival of music, fun and food – follow Sherborne Summer Festival on Facebook and Twitter.]
HOW YOU CAN HELP in 2018...
(1) I’ve been fortunate to have solicitors Porter Dodson as HNT’s MAIN SPONSOR this year, 2017/18. HNT now needs a main sponsor for 2018/19 could that be you?
(2) The Adventures of Y, as seen on the HNT website (tales about my autistic daughter), will be ready to go into book format later this year once the illustrations are complete. A PUBLISHER IS REQUIRED!
(3) I welcome individuals, schools, businesses, groups etc to help HNT fund raise; see HNT’s “Just Giving” page
(4) I am also available to give workshops and talks to groups/individuals of all ages on my charity work and my role as a mother of an S.E.N child.
HNT’s website is updated as new events are confirmed as does my “Blog” so please do follow and help me help SEN children and their families.
